The Advantages of Heat Pump Hot Water System in Your Home
Purchasing an energy efficient hot water heating system for your home
is an extremely good idea – not only because it is eco friendly and will
help to reduce your carbon footprint, but also because it will save you
a lot on your electricity bills in the long run. The heat pump hot water
systems use only about a quarter or at the most a third of the
electricity of a regular electric storage system.
The mechanism
Heat pump water heaters do not work like solar water heaters. In case
of heat pumps, you will have 24-hour access to hot water. These systems
are the next best option if you cannot afford a solar heater. They are
extremely energy efficient and useful.
So how does a heat pump hot water system work? Simply put, it works in
just the opposite manner of a refrigerator. The pump draws heat from the
surrounding environment and then uses the heat to heat a refrigerant
that is then converted into gas. This gas is again compressed, which
generates heat to heat up the water. Thereafter the refrigerant expands
back into liquid from its gaseous form and the whole cycle of heating is
repeated so that you are provided with unlimited supply of hot water.
Please note that if you like to make your heat pump hot water system
more effective, you can attach a solar booster to the heater.

A few facts about heat pump water heaters
Heat pump water heaters were generally used for space conditioning.
However, now they are also being used for electric water heating. The
fact that they are about three times more energy efficient than electric
heaters, makes it a truly smart buy. In addition, what is even better is
that you may be even eligible for rebates in Australia, if you are
switching from your electric heater to a new solar hot water system. You
can also use the heat pump hot water systems to heat your home. |
